I am a native Bostonian who is passionate about serving the community in which I was raised. Being a therapist and treating people with psychological issues and disorders has been my passion for many years.
I received my Masters of Social Work degree from Simmons College School of Social Work. Prior to that, I graduated summa cum laude from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. In my senior year of college, I helped develop a Peer Mentoring Program geared towards students within the Department of Psychology.
I received post-graduate training in the areas of Clinical Supervision, Couples Therapy, and Chronic Medical Illnesses, as well as OCD, depression, and anxiety. I am a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and had been a member of NASW for 14 years of which the last year I served as Co-Chair on NASW's Nominating and Leadership Identification Committee (NLIC).
Since 1999, my experience has included work with a variety of populations, including Vinfen's crisis stabilization unit serving adults in acute mental health crises and managing one of Vinfen's day programs serving adults with developmental disabilities, autism, and mental retardation. One of my favorite experiences was providing counseling to students at Tufts University College Counseling Center as I thoroughly enjoy working with the student population. Over the past several years, I have worked as an administrator in a local outpatient counseling center, provided clinical supervision to non-licensed and licensed clinicians, as well as counseling adults, adolescents, couples, and families.
I have been treating patients privately since 2007. First, I practiced out of my office in Arlington and then relocated to Lexington in 2010 when I expanded the practice. In addition to private practice, I currently am part of the staff at McLean Hospital's OCD Institute Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), where I treat families of patients with OCD. I am a newly acquired clinician there since their PHP recently expanded in May 2014. On a Per Diem basis, I also work as a Lahey Behavioral Health staff clinician that evaluates patients from Winchester and surrounding communities in the Winchester Hospital Emergency Department.
